We’ve got five years…

The result of the 2015 General Election plunged me into a mood of deep gloom.  The constant reiteration of ‘five years’ – five years of majority Tory government – was hard to bear.  I started a blog as a place where I could write about my fears and concerns, and called it ‘We’ve got five years…’.

Of course, it wasn’t five years, as that majority was squandered by a new PM, but in any event the political landscape has changed beyond anything we could then have imagined, since the vote to leave the EU.   Nonetheless, the specific issues that weighed most heavily on me then – immigration and asylum, poverty and welfare, rights and responsibilities – are as relevant now as then, and have featured regularly on Passing Time.  You’ll find the blog here.
